Steve Scott: 3-time Olympian and one of America's most consistent middle distance runners, who recorded a remarkable 137 races at sub-4 minute mile. He ran at least one Sub-4 mile time for 17 consecutive years. His outdoor mile record held up for over 26 year and indoor record 24 years. Steve also survived Testicular cancer at age 40, then 20 years later prostate cancer. Today Steve is healthy and will run the fast Pace 5k. He's looking forward to trying out our fast course.

ABOUT OUR CAUSE

Prostate cancer is the most common major cancer in American men today. One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. On Saturday, October 27, 2018, Forsyth Area Striders Team (F.A.S.T.), along with the Prostate Condition Education Council (PCEC), is proud to present the 10th annual Georgia Urology FAST PACE RACE. This event and it's proceeds promotes awareness and provides education regarding the importance of screening and early detection.

ABOUT OUR CAUSE:

Prostate cancer is the most common major cancer in American men today. One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. On October 27th, 2018, Forsyth Area Striders Team (F.A.S.T.), along with the Prostate Condition Education Council (PCEC) and Georgia Urology is proud to present the 10th annual FAST PACE RACE. This event, and its proceeds, promotes prostate cancer awareness, education, and treatment options. We also offer free PSA testing and DR exams. We’ve had over 700 men take advantage of our free PSA Screenings.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Each course was designed by runners, for runners. The 5K,10K and half marathon are all chip-timed, point-to-point runs with an overall elevation drop to the finish line. The NEW 5K faster than before course will produce many memorable PRs and along with the 10K course with its beautiful half-mile, the visible downhill finish will give many runners their much sought-after Peachtree Road Race qualifying time. The half marathon will also be a very scenic point to point route.

Start Line Transport

START LINE TRANSPORTATION: The start line is approximately one mile from the fairgrounds. We will offer buses to transport runners/walkers  to the starting line from 7:00 am – 7:45 am, or participants may choose to walk/run to the start via sidewalks.

Bag Check

BAG CHECK: Since we are a point to point race and it can be cool in October we will provide a bag check at the start line for warm up clothing, jackets and such to be transported back to the exhibit hall at the fairgrounds.

Teams

Join our Team Challenge. Make up your own team of 5 or more in any race distance. It can be clubs,companies, churches schools, families or just a group of friends. You willstill place individually and have a shot at winning a team award.

Packet Pickup

PACKET PICK UP: Packet Pick up will be Thursday, October 25th 4:00-6:30 pm before the Pasta Dinner at Heritage Village in the Fairgrounds. Race day packet pickup opens at 6:30 am inside the Cumming Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall building.

Awards

Fun Run

Our 1 mile fun starts, finishes and stays within the gated fair groundsadding to the safety for smaller kids running in it. All kids will finishunder a large inflatable finish line and receive a finishing medal as amemorable keep sake.
